Boris Stock Award Winner for 2024

The winner of the annual Boris Stock award for 2024 is Vojtěch Šálek for reporting an extensive array of bugs related to the newly developed 3-D heat transfer routine. The case studies were deceptively simple and helped to uncover a serious flaw in the book-keeping related to solid phase parameters. Thanks for all your efforts!

Thank you very much! I really appreciate the award, and most importantly, I’m glad my findings have been helpful. I’m already working on some additional odd HT3D-related behavior, but with every fix, it becomes increasingly difficult to find a simple case for issue tracking.

Once again, I would like to appreciate the continuous support of the entire FDS development team and your immediate efforts to improve the code. I can only imagine how challenging it must be to maintain the FDS forum while working full-time. Still, the benefit to the community is huge, and I deeply hope this open approach continues—though I fear the number of questions I’m preparing might test its limits 😊
