Well, this turned out to be user error. I had changed the input file to use a very low soot yield (a year ago) and had forgotten. Switching the actual verification case with propane and 0.01 soot yield and things look reasonable. |

Please bear with me, as I am not a Windows user since decades ago. But I'm trying to set up a bunch of Windows 11 laptops for a student demo of FDS and Smokeview. I run the "simple_test.fds" example (
fds/Verification/Fires/simple_test.fds
for those who use a repo). I'm using the latest nightly test bundle of FDS-SMV from here. When I load HRRPUV alone, all seems fine (see left image). But when I then load SOOT DENSITY everything becomes very faint (see right image). @mcgratta tried this on his older Windows machine and did not see the problem, so I suspect this is somehow Windows 11-related.
