MirrorPrune (default) - The managed resources will be deleted if prune is true and orphaned if false.

wording is not correct as there is no orphaned option.

Should be something like:
MirrorPrune (default) - The managed resources will be deleted if prune is true and deletionPolicy is unset.

The documentation is corret. If you have prune: false and deletionPolicy: MirrorPrune and you delete the Flux Kustomization, the objects applied by the Kustomization will remain in the cluster, which means they are now orphans.
