Half Day Present / Half Day Leave

Hi, we are implementing Half Day Present / Half Day Leave status in Attendance and wanted to share our approach so that we can have early feedback to cover as many use cases as we can in the first go

• Status of the attendance document will be as is, i.e. Present, Half-Day, Absent, Work From Home, On Leave, etc
• In case of Half-Day, a new field in attendance doctype will indicate the status of the other half, either Present, Absent or Work From Home. If leave application is created for both halves, it'll be turned to a full leave. We won't allow two different types of leave application for day with this feature just yet. That case will be handled separately.
• Relevant documents like leave application or Attendance request, will be linked as applicable along with total work hours, shift, in time, out time as captured from employee checkins
• This will give better visibility of details of each half, and keep all attendance related details linked to a single document. This should solve the problem of having to refer either leave application or employee checkins depending on which was created last
• Payroll will only consider total work hours and paid leave applications while calculating payment days, eliminating the problem of having to correct attendance when Consider Unmarked Attendance As is set to Absent in Payroll Settings.
