Return data in "Chunks". A setting between "Stream" and "Dump"

Stream feels slow, and waiting to dump everything makes users feel like the app has stalled. Is there a way to return "chunks" of answers to the UI, say 20 characters at a time? If not, I think this would be a useful setting.
