Tabs aren't properly displayed in commit messages

See the screenshot below.
The PR: line has a tab and a number after "PR:" but it shows 2ab7 for some reason.

The terminal is KDE konsole.

$ env | grep TERM
COLORTERM=truecolor
TERM=xterm-256color

Also see the stray number 299119 in the Diff pane. This is a carry-over from the previous screen that wasn't cleared.
