Display text ads

There is a design for text ads, so let's just implement it.

Yes, a logo in a black box as an image? If text is wanted i would need maybe to think about it…What do you think?

Well :) Here's one solution and you can leave logo area away. Logo should be (if used) aligned to bottom wit the buttons and the amount of text varies as it varies..Important for text is to always start from the top...

I have been chewing on this and I do not think it is a good idea to change the base UI elements depending on the ad type.

We have an ad area (center) and an info area (right). Now the content to the AD area changes, but we also change stuff in the info area.

=> I really think that we should keep the right info area as is and just change the ad content from banner to text.

We will update the UI side for the shop totally, so these things will be touched on that work. Now we should just keep it simple.

I think it's more logical and coherent as in image above. It breaks too much if they are stuck on the right column as with normal ad. The headline (advertiser + name of campaign) are the only things that change. Do you think that is too much? I don't see that as an issue.

The best would be that we didn't have to add headline at all (there's no explanations in the real display ads either).

Just saying that this is not the final thing and we should keep it simple. By just changing 1 element (from image to text) is simpler than doing much more - as we know that this solution is just to enable the text ads and it will not be the final as the work on "shop UI" should start asap.

Is it worth it?

Ferenc: I'd say this is up to you. We must cut corners as we only have you who can implement stuff - and I'd like you to cut corners as well ( but not be stupid )

=> I would like to have the following scenario made:

1. if there is a banner, show it
2. if there is no banner, show text

=> a simple if/else into the template to keep the changes in bare minimum.

I looked at the code for the template and the parameters we get - it should not be too hard to make 1 more parameter "textad" and use that.

I do not like to even suggest these things - but we must face the reality here...
