Icons and NerdFonts compatibility

This is a rather minor issue, but I found that the icon suggested in icons.example for *.tex files isn't represented well.

I have installed here NerdFonts for DejaVu Sans Mono and Caskaydia Mono, and they both have troubles, like below for Caskaydia Mono

Hello @luc0x61,

there are multiple versions of nerdfonts. To me it seems as you are using an older version. Those versions are not backwards compatible.

For me, the icon looks perfectly fine using the latest versions of SauceCodePro, JetBrainsMonoNL and NotoSansM.

I think the answer here is interoperability: with Windows Terminal the extended Unicode characters are rendered well, with ConEmu/Cmder they aren't. I'll try poking the terminal community...

Terminal emulators often have different settings for symbol width and spacing. Thanks for clarifying your emulator, I will test it later on Windows.

Cmder seems to have problems with nerdfonts for me even outside lf. Just echoing icons or opening the config inside nvim looks broken. So this seems to me completely unrelated to lf.
