There hasn't been a successful XLS release in 3 weeks:
https://github.com/google/xls/releases

The logs show:

Run sudo apt-get install python3-distutils python3-dev python-is-python3 libtinfo5 build-essential liblapack-dev libblas-dev gfortran
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
Package python3-distutils is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'python3-distutils' has no installation candidate
E: Unable to locate package libtinfo[5](https://github.com/google/xls/actions/runs/12824295418/job/35760187948#step:3:6)
