I'm running into issues getting this working with ruby 2.5.x. Looks like the issue was fixed in 2019, in: https://github.com/gtrevg/fluent-plugin-splunk-ex/issues/5

But he version of this plugin on rubygems is from 2014: https://rubygems.org/gems/fluent-plugin-splunk-ex

Would it be possible for you to issue a new release of the gem? Thanks!

@mortya Honestly, I haven't touched this in so long, I'll have to re-learn how to test it and make a release. I'll take a look at it over the weekend.
