I think I can take codes from here and incorproate in drf-extensions project. it would be great if you can redirect to that when i'm done.

Realise that this thread is quite stale at this point, but figured I'd leave a comment for anybody who ends up here in search of a recursive solution. There is a friendly fork of this package currently being maintained by Kraken Tech here (with the PyPi package available here). It currently support Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12 and (I think) all valid combinations of DRF & Django that come with that!
