Any updates? #5

Seconded. |
Third-ed. This is an amazing controller that I would love to implement in my new printer. When can we expect a saleable release? |
Sorry that this is taking so long. It's way over due with an update and I
don't mean to string anyone along. Its not clear how much longer it will
take, perhaps months since we still have to do CE and FCC before releasing
the final board. To give a preview of what is going on, 10 boards have been
made for software developers, but there was an issue with the input stage
causing the board to become too hot at high currents. A new revision has
been made, but it needs to be tested and then we need to do a small batch
to do CE/FCC. If the tests go well we still need some time to finalize the
flashing and testing jigs and then start the 30 days pre order.

Been looking around for a second platform to use alongside Duets and this is interesting. Does it support PT100 sensors either directly or through daughter boards? Is it likely that two boards could sync together to get more steppers? Max step rate to 6 drives? Heater fault detection/protection? |
PT100 is supported through an external PT100 amplifier board, which is the
right way to do it.
You can not sync multiple boards with the same accuracy as the steppers
have between them. I don't know of any board that can do that though.
There are 6 internal steppers with two external steppers as well as an
addition. Max step rate to all synchronously.
Heater fault detection is a software issue more than a hardware issue I
would say. For details on that, please refer to the Redeem project.
Kind regards,
-Elias

Thanks for taking the time to respond. When you say external amplifier board do you mean one that inputs a digital signal or fakes a thermistor input? So something like this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3328 ...rather than: |
Hey DocTrucker, Adafruit E3D Online Hope this helps Felix Edit: Changed info based on what I could determine from PCB design A5 |
How goes the CE/FCC testing? Any updates? |
@DieKatzchen the project is cancelled and replaced by Recore: http://www.thing-printer.com/recore/ |
Any updates on this project? An estimated release date?
Also will you be able to use Klipper on this? This seems to be the perfect platform for it.
