Current status of the spec

I have been following the development of car along with IPLD with interest for a little while now, but it seems that activity has pretty much stopped. Is work still being done on this archive format these days? Has activity migrated elsewhere or is the development of this format no longer being actively pursued?

So, there's a go "car-like" project here: https://github.com/ipfs/go-car

However, we're still not sure if this meets all the requirements of a true "CAR" format.
