DLNA plugin dosn't work

Description of the bug

Since upgrading to version 10.11.0 of Jellyfin, the DLNA plugin version 10.0.0.0 has stopped working. It isn't working on any clients (e.g. VLC, LG TV), and even when it displays in clients, I can't access the first folder. I have tried reinstalling the plugin and rebooting the container multiple times. I have tried installing earlier versions of the plugin, but I cannot. The system automatically updates to the latest version as soon as I reboot the container.

Reproduction steps

1. Update to last version
2. Enable DLNA Plugin
3. Reboot container
4. Enable DLNA Plugin and select default user
5. Try to open DLNA in VLC (Universal Plug'n'Play)

What is the current bug behavior?

Tried to open the main folder, but it wouldn't open. The usual subfolders with movies and TV shows aren't there. It won't open.

What is the expected correct behavior?

It must display subfolders with content

DLNA broadcasts fine, and it does populate subfolders like Genre at least partially.
However, the main content folder (Shows for TV Shows, Movies for Movies) remains empty.

I am using jellyfin for the first time since last weekend. Installed on Windows 11 as a service. Very disappointed that it does not support UPnP/DLNA. I tried with Local System account but still not getting DLNA ro work. Some cliens see folders sometimes but cannot play the media. Some clients don't see the server at all. The proprietary HTTP endpoint is working fine. Have been using Serviio for many years without an issue. Was so exited after installing it, thinking I could get rid of Serviio, but it looks like it is an unstable software and breaks frequently.

It does not seem to support any of the other industry standard protocols either. Like m3u playlist support and xtreme codes and all that new IPTV stuff.

Having the same issue where over DLNA /Shows/Shows doesn't load everything, but /Shows/Latest and other subfolders do. /Movies/Movies works while /Music/Songs only loads one song.

Running Jellyfin 10.11.2 with DLNA 10.0.0.0 on Debian 13.

Tried downgrading plugin and still had the issue, and plugin automatically updated when Jellyfin restarted.

Recreated in both VLC Universal Plug'n'Play and a Samsung TV, both show the same output.

Enabled debugging for the DLNA module and it looks like it just returns an empty tree.

I enabled debug logging for all of Jellyfin and captured everything that happened from just opening the /Shows/Shows directory and attached it here.

Looking at the function GetTvFolders for example :

• All items using GetChildrenOfItem (StubType.Series, StubType.FavoriteSeries, StubType.FavoriteEpisodes) are returning nothing. They all use _libraryManager.GetItemsResult(query) which should not work as it used to in previous version of Jellyfin.
• StubType.ContinueWatching is using GetMovieContinueWatching which also use _libraryManager.GetItemsResult(query) but is working fine
• StubType.Latest which is working is using _userViewManager.GetLatestItems which is working

Does anybody know if there any documentation of _libraryManager.GetItemsResult ?

The obvious difference I see between GetChildrenOfItem and GetMovieContinueWatching is the GetChildrenOfItem is using this filter :

query.IncludeItemTypes = [itemType];

I'll try tomorrow to recompile with a comment on this line :

The same problem happens for me, but in my case it's the music albums. "Albums" are nicely populated within Jellyfin web UI, but all DLNA clients show that the list is empty.
