EvilHack -- General information
2+
3+
EvilHack is a NetHack variant that attempts to incorporate many of the best
4+
features of the variants GruntHack and SporkHack, as well as other interesting
5+
bits of code from other variants (Splicehack, UnNetHack, xNetHack, etc).
6+
Wrap all that up along with some custom/unique content never seen in any other
7+
variant, and you have EvilHack.
8+
9+
EvilHack is built off of the NetHack 3.6.2 codebase, and will be updated
10+
accordingly as NetHack 3.6.x progresses and evolves.
11+
12+
This variant is designed to be difficult, much like how GruntHack and SporkHack
13+
turned out to be (hence the name 'EvilHack'). It is not impossible to win by
14+
any means, but several aspects of the game that one might take for gratned in
15+
the 'vanilla' version of NetHack can easily cost you your game in this variant.
16+
Various monsters are tougher, have more hit points, can fight more intelligently,
17+
and can use a variety of objects against you that previously only the player
18+
could use.
19+
20+
More information regarding this variant can be accessed at the NetHackWiki -
21+
https://nethackwiki.com/wiki/EvilHack - or by visiting channel #hardfought on
22+
Freenode IRC.
23+
24+
NetHack's general information bit is below.
