Chrome 131: "This extension was turned off because it's no longer supported" #64

Per the below screenshot, Chrome automatically disables the KeeWeb extension now due to not supporting latest Chrome standards (<-- this is the link in the screenshot):

I imagine this might be related to Manifest v3 or something similar, but didn't look into it in-depth at this time. EDIT: see below comments

My specific Chrome version for reference:
Version 131.0.6778.205 (Official Build) (x86_64) on macOS Sonoma 14.5

Likely related to keeweb/keeweb#2188 in the main repo; not sure if the Manifest v3 changes got a release?

Also the extension's page (using the direct link from the README) displays this:

Seems like no as far as I can tell; 0.3.7 from Aug 2021 is still the latest GitHub release and matches my extension's version

Is there any chance that the extension will be updated and be usable again?

You could probably build it locally as a workaround, but an official release would be great

The same issue, as the Chrome update has changed the requirements for extensions, the plugin released in 2021 can no longer be used normally.
