Clear background #3

Tried not drawing a background, but it's still showing the 4 corners as white. Any ideas on how to fix? thx!

I also tried:

[_statusProgressIndicator setColor:[NSColor whiteColor]];
[_statusProgressIndicator setIndeterminate:YES];
[_statusProgressIndicator setBackgroundColor:[NSColor clearColor]];
[_statusProgressIndicator setDrawsBackground:YES];
[_statusProgressIndicator startAnimation:self];
