RELEASE NOTES
The Sensor Observation Service aggregates readings from live sensors as well as sensor archives. The service provides an
interface to get the pure data (encoded in Observation&Measurement), information about the sensor itself (encoded in a
SensorML instance document), and information about the sensor mounting platform (SensorML as well).
For detailed information concerning the installation procedure the reader is referred to the installation guide (how2install)
in the doc directory.
Release 52N-SOS-3.1.1
=========================
--- New features ---
* SOAP-Binding supported
* Coordinate switching
* Spatial Observation supported
* TestClient 2.0, drop down menu for requests, code highligting
--- Changes ---
* How2Install: Installation section for PostgreSQL and PostGIS are deleted
--- Fixed bugs ---
For more detailed information about the bugs look at https://52north.org/bugzilla/
ID Summary
* 79 result filter of GetObservation Operation does not work
* 91 Namespace in ExceptionReportDocument has to be corrected
* 135 Combination of eventtimes in request causes database error
* 155 SRS is not changed in Capabilities and GetObservation response, if coordinates have been transformed
* 156 PropertyName in time filter of GetObservation has to be changed
* 165 DomainFetaure is not inserted in InsertObservation operation of mobile extension
* 167 Undeployment does not proceed successfully (postgis.jar not deleted)
* 169 Temporal filter could not be parsed in GetObservation request, if namespace of OGC namespace is other than 'ogc'
* 194 SOS crash if database server is not reachable
* 195 non mandatory element "axisID" required in RegisterSensor document
* 196 Erroneous handling of z-value in SensorMLDecoder.parsePointPosition()
* 197 Schema bean compilation lacks a substitution, resulting in casting error and validation error
* 198 two parsePointPosition()-Method expect different values - inconsistent!
* 212 not helping null pointer if a request listener is missing in the config.properties file
* 215 GMLDecoder has errorenous Timezone handling
* 216 SensorMLEncoder creates invalid documents, createPosition()
* 218 DescribeSensor for current time and mobileEnabled="true" results in exception
* 219 DescribeSensor: Java Heap Space Error if SensorML is too big
* 223 GetObservation -> ObservationCollection: BoundingBox has wrong x,y-order and no srs defined
* 230 GetCapabilities Property "updateSequence" is not updated
* 231 nullCheck for Measurement Observation will never work
* 232 State implementation version in capabilities
* 233 ResultFilter Bugs
* 239 GetObservation - mandatory param offering is not queried
* 247 getCapabilities on an 'empty' offering (or SOS) causes exception
* 258 GetCapabilities accepts only capitalized parameter names => not spec conform
* 268 Time parse Exception when requesting GetObservationById re
* 281 CapabilitiesCache not refreshed after InsertObservation requests
* 286 BoundingBox of EmptyOfferings is broken
* 335 Feature-Response with FeatureCollection only when more than one Feature returned.
* 336 resultModel Parameter namespace causes GetObservation request to return exception report
* 337 GetCapabilities crashes, if emtpy offering is contained in database
* 349 Coordinates are not switched for EPSG::4326 during InsertObsertion with new FOI
* 368 Namespace declaration of resultModel in capabilities is buggy
* 372 Slow SOS after some GetObservations.
* 375 Error in Date/Time parsing
--- Limitations ---
Release 52N-SOS-3.1.0
=========================
--- New features ---
* GET Binding for GetObservation and DescribeSensor operation
* automatic capabilities cache update
--- Changes ---
* project converted to Maven
--- Limitations ---
Release 52N-SOS-3.0.0
=========================
--- New features ---
* first implementation of transactional profile including RegisterSensor and InsertObservation operation
--- Changes ---
* SOS completely adapted to SOS schemata version 1.0.0
--- Limitations ---
Release 52N-SOSv2-01-00
=========================
--- New features ---
* new framework - the so called DBFeeder framework - for updating the underlying data base.
--- Changes ---
* The provided implementation of the DAOObjects is now based on the PostgreSQL 8.1 data base. It is possible to use the
PostgreSQL 8.0 version, too. Read the installation guide for detailed configuration issues.
* In the former release an Tomcat exception occured if the O&M document for the issued request was to large. In this version
the available Memory is survyed and in the case the response exceeds the available Memory an OGC Service Exception is returned.
--- Limitations ---
Release 52N-SOSv2-00-00
=========================
--- New features ---
* new framework for the pluggable implementation of service operations.
--- Changes ---
* General redesign of the SOS framework, due to the updated specification. The release implements the core profile of the
Sensor Observation Service specified in the OGC document "Sensor Observation Service" by Arthur Na & Mark Priest,
OGC-# 05-088r1. The core profile comprises of the following operations:
- GetCapabilities
- DescribeSensor
- GetObservation
* The provided implementation of the DAOObjects is now based on the PostgreSQL 8.0 data base and replaces the non spatial
MySQL data base on which the former release was based.
--- Limitations ---
* The current implementation of the DAOObjects does not work with the PostgreSQL 8.1 data base system.
Release 52N-SOS-spec_0.9_rel_1.0
=================
- Initial release, implementing the operations defined in the OGC Interoperability Program Report "Sensor Collection Service"
by Tom McCarty, OGC-# 03-023r1. In addition the release encompasses an enhancement of the SCS that provides the ability to
define threshold values and to receive the observations if the threshold value is crossed. This patter is called the Active
SCS (ASCS).
