Is sqlx.dev an official project website?

Hi all,

I was just looking to start working with DBs, learning SQL, and sqlx and when looking for a guide on working with sqlx - I think my search query was "sqlx getting started" - I came across sqlx.dev.

The page does hold sqlx guides but seems to be broken in many ways and at the bottom of the page are seemingly entirely unrelated links to other domains.

Without wanting to step on anyones toes I just wanted to ask if it is an official sqlx website or an impersonation of the project and notify you that it needs some attention if it is an official site.

At first glance

• favicon doesn't load
• formatting issues
  • Spacing
  • Code blocks incomplete/broken/scrollbar missing
  • etc.
• logo.webp getting a NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST (trying to load from jimmyr.com instead of sqlx.dev)

Taking a quick look at the repo README there seem to be no links to sqlx.dev.

Edit: The logo seems to be available now, the code is still outside the borders of the code blocks.

The site felt really weird to me but I didn't want to insult anyone's work in case it was official. The maintainers are probably busy enough and it wouldn't be the first time a project page is silently deteriorating. ^^

No it's not an official website made by the SQLx devs.

Thanks! Can't read on Discord since I currently don't really have the time to read the ToS changes, effectively locking me out but I'll believe you. Man I miss having forums.

Yeah, the site is AI slop:

This site seems to be incredibly confused about the existence or non-existence of certain features (like named parameters which have yet to be implemented: #2235 (comment)) and can't even decide if it's about SQLx the Rust library or SQLx the Go library. We suspect it was largely written using generative AI.

I have tried reaching out to the author via multiple channels, including email and their Discord server, and they have not responded. I even found their LinkedIn post where they bragged about generating multiple websites entirely with ChatGPT (addendum: which seems to have since been deleted/hidden, hmm...).
