I find the ola function very powerful, but as far as I understand it's limited to evenly spaced sound events. I think an ola with a trigger input instead of hop and rate would be very useful.

I'm thinking of something like Spawn or TSpawn from SC2.

It could be used like this

; spawn (sounds trig numChannels --> out)

\[ 440 0 sinosc 0.25 1 0 line * ] 10 1 dust 1 spawn

I can give it a spin if this makes sense to you @lfnoise

It is not limited to evenly spaced sound events. The hops argument can be a stream of delta times.

\[ 48 76 irand nnhz 0 sinosc cb distort .1 1. xrand hanenv * .1 .2 xrand * rpan2] .1 1 xrands 1 2 ola 5c 5 apverb6 play

Amazing, thanks for the clarification! That covers my use case then. I think a triggered version would still be useful though.
