The Libre Graphics Meeting 2009 will take place at the the École Polytechnique in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Montréal is truly an international city. There are many ways to get to Montréal. The city is served by an airport 20 minutes from downtown with non-stop or one-stop flights from almost every major city in the world. There is also easy access via major highways from the US and other Canadian provinces. As we wish to make this a "Carbon Neutral" even we encourage the use of public transport where possible.

Visiting Canada

Canada is asking people from many countries to have a valid visa to visit. Please check here if you need a visa to get to Canada Canada's website EN or Site web du Canada FR.

If you need an invitation letter from the LGM organisation to get your visa, please contact the Louis Desjardins (louis.desjardins at gmail.com) directly.

Please plan ahead. It can take time to get your travelling documents ready. We have no control over the delivery of Canadian visa.

Getting to LGM from the airport with the shuttle

L'Aérobus is the shuttle service from Montréal - Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to the Montréal Central Bus Station (Berri Terminal).

Tickets for L'Aérobus are on sale at the Airport ticket kiosk.

The Montréal Central Bus Station has direct access to Montréal métro (our subway), station Berri-UQAM.
See map of métro.

We suggest you buy your public transport tickets or pass at Berri-UQAM. You'll save money and time. Consider taking advantage of the pass options (weekly or monthly) as they allow unlimited use of the buses and métro for the period. Ask for this at the kiosk, there is one in each métro station. Not at the airport, though (Montreal Public Transport Fares).

Getting to LGM from the airport by taxi

There is a Flat Rate.

It will be appreciated if you can book your reservation before April 6st. After that date rooms will still be available but it will be more difficult to group people together on one or two floors.

Hotels in Montréal

If you want to live outside the campus, there are lots of hotels in Montréal. We will not make any recommandations on hotels. It is suggested you look for hotels located downtown or in Plateau Mont-Royal near the following metro stations : Place-des-Arts, Berri-UQAM, Sherbrooke, Mont-Royal, Laurier. Access to LGM is through the métro, station Édouard-Montpetit or Université de Montréal (blue line) or by bus circuit no. 51 Édouard-Montpetit (which connects to métro Laurier).
