I am using ARM CPU and try to run a sql server using the Azure SQL Edge image.
I have build the sqlcmd binary executable file by doing go build ./cmd/sqlcmd and copy the binary file to the container /opt/mssql-tools/bin/sqlcmd directory
but still got the cannot execute binary file: Exec format error. Is there anything I missed?

Hi, I am not familiar with the azure sql database/server so really not sure if following issue is sqlcmd tool related or not but just checking in case.

In my Dockerfile, I will start the server and run some restore database procedure and run some update queries to my database and when it does that, it will hang and stop on restore database stored procedure.

but if I removed the STATS = 5 from the Restore Database query, it will proceed further but hang on restore database completion message and is not able to continue on next query

Then found out that if I directly using the RESTORE DATABASE query instead of a stored procedure, it will continue on to the next queries, which are 12 simple update statements.

And then it will hang after running 5 update queries. I will need to break down 12 queries to 3 batches, 4 at a time. Then it can be run successfully.

Since the same queries can be run from the Azure Data Studio without any issue, I don't think it's azure database server setting issue?

Please open a new Issue with a script to reproduce the problem. It's entirely possible that it's a bug in go-sqlcmd or possibly go-mssqldb. We haven't run very many real world workloads on this application yet.
