We talked about this in the Nimbus engineering meeting and the decision we came to was...

Add a link "file targeting criteria request" (next to the Advanced Targeting words on the audience page) with either "learn more" or "?" next to it (whatever looks best - no strong preference)

That "file targeting criteria request" will open to github - ideally an intake form to create the issues in the experimenter repo. https://github.com/mozilla-extensions/nimbus-devtools

  • "What is the criteria you need to target based on? Be specific.
Ex: if targeting based on a preferences - what is the preference name and what state do you need it to be. Ex: if you need to target only Windows users - is there a minimum version?"
  • "Do you need to include or exclude users based on the criteria you described?

the "learn more" or "?" will open guidance that says:
"If the option you need is not in the advanced targeting list - file a new targeting request. Here is guidance for developers to add new advanced targeting.

Either share that request link with your feature engineering team or share the link in #ask-experimenter to engage a developer to create your targeting."
