Updates

• The 2023 hardfork is scheduled to be deployed on the testnet at 6765 epoch. We anticipate this to occur around 6:50 UTC on June 25th, 2023, along with the next release.

Features

• ckb-auth now includes support for Cardano signatures, enabling users to verify CKB transactions using their Cardano wallets.

• CKB-VM has introduced a novel 'pause' mechanism to enhance resource allocation during transaction verification.
  • This feature allows the pausing of an active VM instance by sending a signal, regardless of whether the signal sender and the VM instance reside in the same thread.

• Implemented the Open Transaction SDK to support a new lock script, otx-sighash-lock.

Improvements

• Restructured the design of the transaction pool to eliminate redundant code, paving the way for the future implementation of new features

Fixed

• Resolved a bug that was preventing the correct suspension and resumption of the CKB Virtual Machine when a child machine, created by the spawn system call, was running
  • Modified the spawn implementation to be compatible with the suspend/resume mechanism

• Fix and redesign CKB’s graceful shutdown mechanism

• Refactor ckb_types, this involves:

  • splitting out a generated-types component that supports no-std and
  • moving some of ckb_types' logic to ckb-sdk

  This refactoring is essential because, for a long time, numerous Rust projects have been referring to the ckb_types crate, even though it was not initially designed for this purpose

• Based on the recent advances in interpreter optimization, we will conduct experiments on CKB-VM to explore potential performance enhancements

• Deploy and introduce a demo showcasing Atomic Swaps through CKB's Open Transaction to the community
