Hello,

Unfortunately, the plugin no longer works after the last OpenSSL update.

[27.2.2025, 15:17:57] [Vorwerk] Error: write EPROTO C0DA5D6AFF7F0000:error:0A00042F:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert insufficient securit y:../deps/openssl/openssl/ssl/record/rec_layer_s3.c:1605:SSL alert number 71 : null

Is there a chance that there will still be an update or is the plugin finally gone?

I would be very grateful for a brief yes or no.

Regards, niwre2019

Same error with my homebridge installation, I also would appreciate an update if possible.

Same here…

I will try with a backup, that has got an older version of Homebridge <1.9.0…

@maschbaer I have already tried version 1.8.5, but this did not resolve the error. I therefore suspect that the latest OpenSSL update is the cause of the problem.
Hopefully this can still be fixed.

@niwre2019 : Ok thanks…do you know at which point and how the OpenSSL update was introduced?

@maschbaer I can only remember seeing and installing an update for OpenSSL on my Raspberry the last few days, so I suspect it's related to that and that would match the error message that appears.

I went back to a backup of my Pi at which the plugin definitely worked…however, now I get the same error as stated above…I believe they changed something at Vorwerk severs end, so that plugin cannot connect correctly…the same happened with the NEATO plugin some years ago.

Thanks for the info, then it was just a coincidence with the update and it is actually down to Vorwerk. We can only hope that there will be an update for the plugin.

I also tried one of the other Vorwerk plugins. However they also fail, with a different error massage.

Unfortunately, this is not good news, we can only hope that the developer of this plugin will fix the error.

Tonight I tried to integrate my VR300 via Alexa and the according HB Plugin. However, the Alexa skill is crap and does not work at all and hence also the HB Alexa plugin does not show my VR300.

It‘s such a shame that we lost the funktionality of the plugin it was perfect for my needs since I was able to inregrate the zone feature into my automations…

Unfortunately, I haven't found any other solution yet. It would be a real shame if the plugin no longer received any updates.

People on Home Assistant are faced with the same issue. The HA plugin stopped working approximately a week ago.
