The Hidden Lake network is based on a QB task that does not anonymize subscribers to communicate with each other. When a global observer and one of the communication subscribers cooperate (in the role of the sender), finding the exact location of the second subscriber (in the role of the recipient) is considered an easy task if such a subscriber is able to generate a response. Nevertheless, there are a number of applications in which the response may not be generated, but at the same time communication between subscribers may exist from two ends (such as setting settings from one node and collecting data from other nodes). In this case, it becomes possible to hide the initiator of the request by using intermediate nodes.

Сеть Hidden Lake базируется на QB-задаче, которая не анонимизирует абонентов коммуникации друг к другу. При кооперации глобального наблюдателя и одного из абонентов коммуникации (в роли отправителя) - нахождение точного расположения второго абонента (в роли получателя) считается лёгкой задачей, если таковой способен генерировать ответ. Тем не менее, существует ряд прикладных приложений в которых ответ может не генерироваться, но при этом связь между абонентами может существовать с двух концов (как например, установка настроек с одного узла и сбор данных с других узлов). В таком случае, появляется возможность скрыть инициатора запроса посредством использования промежуточных узлов.
