Latest alpha version: When creating a portable version and selecting the "Create and automatically launch portable version" checkbox, a restart will trigger an error beep. #17773

Steps to reproduce:

First, download the latest version of NVDA-alpha.
Then, create a portable version and check the box for "Create and automatically start the portable version."
Once the portable version is created,
when the final confirmation button appears,
click "OK" to reproduce the error.

Actual behavior:

During the process of creating the portable version, the checkbox for "Create and automatically start the portable version" was selected. After completing the creation and clicking the confirmation to restart, an error alert sound was emitted.

Expected behavior:

The error alert sound no longer occurs.

NVDA installed/portable/running from source:

portable version

NVDA version:

nvda_snapshot_alpha-35514
and
nvda_snapshot_alpha-35509

Windows version:

Microsoft Windows
version 24H2 (OS 26100.3194)

Does the issue still occur after restarting your computer?

yes

Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? If so, please report their behaviors.

Following the steps above, using nvda_snapshot_alpha-35509, the same error alert sound occurred.

If NVDA add-ons are disabled, is your problem still occurring?

yes

Does the issue still occur after you run the COM Registration Fixing Tool in NVDA's tools menu?

The above tool was not run.
