Thanks for asking! Excited to see what you've been building. Examples in the gallery should for the most part be under an ISC license, like for example https://observablehq.com/@observablehq/plot-geotiff-contours ; some examples however may have no specific license, in which case they fall under the ToS, as you correctly interpreted. I'm not sure yet if this particular notebook should be ISC, but looking at the gallery it appears that we may have forgotten to set the license on several of the examples. I'll check and get back to you. |

I'm pursuing the open source release of some code in my organization and was wondering if I could get some insight into the licensing of public examples such as: https://observablehq.com/@observablehq/plot-marimekko.
I see from the Terms of Service user generated content is available for viewing and sharing on that platform but not necessarily commercial use.
Is there some license applied to these examples I'm not seeing, or would it be possible to get the written consent of the author @mbostock for distributing this code as part of our project?
