Search ROIs by comment field

As per this post omero web currently doesn't index the ROI comment field. While this can still be queried I think a typical pathologist using iviewer etc would expect to be able to search via the interface.

Are you proposing that the functionality provided by the script on that post is integrated into the iviewer UI, or that the OMERO search https://omero.readthedocs.io/en/stable/developers/Modules/Search.html is updated to also index ROI comment fields (and the webclient UI is updated to handle the results of that search).

Both are quite big pieces of work.

A simpler solution that might provide useful functionality is to convert that script into an OMERO server script that can be run from the webclient, possibly returning the search results in the form of an OMERO.table as (e.g. like https://idr.openmicroscopy.org/webclient/omero_table/41884202/) where each row links to an ROI / Shape)

I was thinking more of the second option (indexing the ROIs and listing the parent images with their thumbnails). The table option could work too, but users will have to know to look under the scripts menu when they might expect it to be able to do so from the search bar.

Yep, agreed. And thanks for your input. It's useful for building up a picture of requested features, but I'm afraid it's unlikely we're going to be able to devote significant resources to this in the near future.

From a conversation today, there's an additional piece which might need adding which is the indexing of the field itself in https://github.com/ome/omero-server/blob/master/src/main/java/ome/services/fulltext/FullTextBridge.java#L81 (and then re-indexing the server)
