My name is Jason, and I recently graduated in Spring 2024 from UT Dallas with a Master's in Computer Science. My focus is on data science and ML, and I'm particularly interested in Green AI - how AI can be more environmentally sustainable.
I'm currently job hunting, so while I don't have professional experience yet, I have plenty of time and enjoy learning new concepts. I'm excited to contribute and gain some experience being apart of this group!.
What I know
Python
Java
C++
SQL
R
Matlab
HTML
CSS
Javascript
Pytorch
Pyspark (python version on Apache Spark, based on Hadoop)
sci-kit learn
numpy
pandas
Statistical Machine Learning Methods (Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Cluster, Time Series Forecasting)
Basic Neural Nets (Feedforward, RNNs)
Hugging Face
What I want to know
I want to gain more experience with industry standards and practices in data science, as well as popular tools used in the field. My education has been very structured, so I'm familiar with concepts but haven't had many opportunities to apply them to large-scale projects. For example, I understand how machine learning models work and can construct a basic one, but I am unfamiliar with and would like to learn how that fits into a larger system or workflow in a real-world project.
