Detailed Description

It would be great to deploy the api and dashboards

Context

• refactor api and dashboard #149
• always good to deploy
• the dashbaord is in react, and there's also a streamlit dashboard

Possible Implementation

• Would be great to have a free place where we can deploy the api and the dashboard
• ideas? would be nice to do this for free (somehow)

For the react dashboard, we could use cloudflare, it's free for both orgs and individuals
For the api, it's a bit tricky to be frank, there are services like heroku and railway but their free deployment can be really slow sometimes - and is only available for a limited period of time, a better option is to rent either an AWS server or a GCP(google cloud) server and run it there using pm2. Would require a little bash programming get a domain - but i've done this previously and could try it out

Hi @peterdudfield! I'd love to work on deploying the API and dashboards.
Proposed free hosting options:

My approach:

1. Create Dockerfile for the API with minimal footprint
2. Set up CI/CD with GitHub Actions for auto-deploy on merge
3. Configure environment variables securely
4. Add health checks and basic monitoring
5. Document the deployment process
   I have 2 PRs in this repo (fix: improve production code safety and input validation #332 and fix: Add Python 3.12 compatibility #334) and am familiar with the codebase. Would be great to help make the forecasts publicly accessible!

Thanks @peterdudfield! Great to see the API is live at open.quartz.solar.

I'll focus on deploying the dashboard. Planning to use:

• Vercel for the React dashboard (free tier)
• Will create a separate PR with deployment configs

Will start working on this!
