Thank you @raphodn for your recap!
As my current UI/UX in the app is already not very popular (which I can understand), I don't think it would be appropriate to add more confusion to it. Until some clean mockups clarify the expected behaviors, especially regarding the proof upload (sync/async?).

the web forms are getting hard to fill in as well.. I'll add the last owner_comment fields in the coming days, and then think of a quick way to hide the newly added complexity somehow (behind a toggle or buttons)

I would copy your UX (e.g. sync proof upload first) but the big difference is our use of background tasks.
If we do like you, no background tasks and no offline.
