ColorItem has an integer as item state

A HABApp user reports a Bug where a ColorItem has an integer as an item state.
E.g. ColorItem with state 0 or state 100 which is obviously not a color.

This seems to be the case only after an openHAB restart which indicates this might be a restore from persistence issue.
The user checked persistence and the values is persisted correctly.

Any idea how this is possible? User is on 5.0.0 Release Build.

Would it be possible to show the rest api response of one of those items after startup with the invalid value?

I can't comment on how this is happening in this specific case, but I would guess it has something to with the fact that a HSBType inherits from PercentType. When one uses an HSBType as a PercentType, you get the brightness value.

I've no idea whiy the REST API would ever treat an HSBType as a PercentType but that's what I would look for first.
