[BUG] Unnecessary Redirect from Deprecated Destinations Tab Causes Flickering and Poor UX #1287

@guidomodarelli

Description

@guidomodarelli

In the Alerting plugin, under the Destinations tab, a screen appears labeled “Destinations (deprecated)”, and it automatically redirects you to another page that says “Destinations have become channels in Notifications.”

I understand that the feature was moved, but this behavior isn’t pleasant for the user—it creates a poor user experience due to the flickering and the quick page jump that occurs when accessing the Destinations tab. I’ve attached a video below to illustrate this.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to OpenSearch Plugins » Alerting
  2. Click on Destinations tab
  3. See the flickering

Expected behavior
The expected behavior would be that this intermediate page doesn’t appear, and instead you are taken directly to the final page without that flickering, as shown below.

The bug can be reproduced in the latest version of the OpenSearch Playground. In other words, I used the version available there.
