Exploring Saral for additional use cases - Student Admissions

There have been several discussions initiated around the usage of Saral for phygitization projects - the current projects primarily cover the assessment use-case for education. Another use case in close proximity that has been identified for pilot work is capturing of student admissions data.

Student admissions is a process that is currently quite long-drawn in terms of paper work, and has teachers spending a considerable amount of their time.Capturing student details on the admission form and conversion of the data to a digital format is one process that takes bulk of their time today.
The intent is to simplify some aspects of the process, allowing teachers to quickly capture and digitise admissions details of students from the admission form via a form scan. The Saral app can be used to scan the data and push it to the relevant database.

There was a small PoC carried out in UP in this regard, the details of which can be found here

The intent is to build Saral for supporting this use case, train models based on a few accepted formats for admission forms, and then repeat the pilot to gauge scan accuracy and larger roll out
