Create messages.pot by Weblate?

I do have a Python project and currently create the messages.pot file using xgettext.
Is Weblate able to do this job for me?
I mean, when it detect upstream commits with modified py-files it somehow(?) could scan the pyfiles and create a messages.pot file out of it.
