Upload image/video API like Franklin bot

Is there any API to upload an image/video and get the URL? like what franklin bot is doing today.
we are trying to export the word document as JSON to tutorialize it ( helpx functionality), as part of this process we need the image/video URL from the document.

Could you parse the markdown format of your word document? All of the media links are organized at the bottom of the doc.

E.g: https://business.adobe.com/customer-success-stories/helly-hansen-case-study.md

Thanks, @chrischrischris for the response. MD representation of the word document is Franklin specific ( I mean the output of MD can be changed anytime by Franklin) .. our logic to extract JSON content out of word would be good if it is independent of any rendering logic like HTML or MD.

Is it possible to access the franklin bot or any underlying APIs to upload the assets and get the media links? Can you please suggest any other alternatives to get this done from the word itself? Thank you.
