Panther Protocol Trusted Setup Ceremony Contributions

Overview

This document provides a comprehensive summary of all contributions made to the Panther Protocol Trusted Setup Ceremony. The ceremony followed a multi-party computation (MPC) process where each participant added their randomness to the parameters, culminating with a final random beacon contribution.

Initial Setup (0000_initial)

The initial setup contained the circuit definitions and starting parameters, forming the foundation for the ceremony.

  • Documentation: The detailed process and rationale for using this random beacon as the final contribution is documented in contributions/0010_final/BaconRandomnessCommitment.md, which was committed prior to reaching block #22038000.

Security Guarantee

The security of the final parameters is guaranteed as long as at least one participant honestly deleted their secret randomness after their contribution. The addition of the final random beacon from Ethereum block #22038000 provides an extra layer of security, as it represents an unpredictable and publicly verifiable source of randomness that no participant could have anticipated.

Verification

Each contribution in the ceremony was verified for correctness, ensuring the integrity of the process. The final zkey files were verified against the corresponding r1cs files, and verification keys have been exported for public verification.
