Can't craft twinkling lights in 1.20.1

Title really says it all. For some reason adding glowstone dust into the crafting recipe just breaks it entirely. I also tried crafting a light strand and adding glowstone to that, nothing happened. This is fairly frustrating because I vastly prefer the lights to twinkle instead of be static
