On shorts, YouTube popups don't go away

Bug Description

When I click the three-dot menu and make a choice from the menu, the drop-down menu does not go away. I have not found any way to get rid of it, except refreshing the page.

There's another pop-up I saw yesterday, but I can't remember how I got to it. They both stayed on the page.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go to a YouTube short
2. Tap the three-dot menu at the top of the video
3. Choose Description from the menu
4. Menu does not disappear

Thanks for the report.

My initial impression is that this might be related to YouTube’s recent UI changes — I’ve personally run into similar issues with menus getting stuck since YouTube rolled out the new interface.

Just to confirm, the menu that doesn’t disappear is YouTube’s native three-dot menu, correct? I want to make sure we’re talking about YouTube’s own UI, not something injected or modified by the YCS-cont extension.

Could you also clarify what led you to believe this issue is related to YCS-cont? Any additional details would help narrow this down.

Yes, the YouTube three-dot menu that's near the top of the video itself. Description, Save to playlist, Captions, Don't Recommend, etc.

And, darn. I was going to take a screenshot and paste it in here, and now it's not happening. I haven't rebooted, nor restarted Firefox, nor anything like that since I last saw it. If I see it, again, I'll let you know if I did anything unusual that might affect whether or not it happens. And, I'll get a screenshot.

The reason I think it's related to YCS-cont is that I started seeing it immediately after installing the extension.

Installed it on a second machine and it happened on the first short where I brought up the menu. Same version of Firefox.

Later --- After rebooting, it works.

Possibly, there's some configuration thing that's set differently when first installing the extension vs loading it on Firefox startup.

I'll let you know if it shows up, again. If you have any ideas on things I can try that might narrow this down, let me know. But, since it has switched to working on two computers, I'll see change the status of this issue to can't reproduce.

... Well, I would have changed the status, but I'm not seeing how to do that.

Okay. It seems to happen when I select "Don't recommend this channel". After clicking that, the menu doesn't go away.

Next one of those I come across, I'll disable YCS (cont) and see what happens

It's still random.

So far, if I disable YCS, the menu behaves.

When I re-enabled YCS, the first time I brought up the menu, it got stuck.

Refreshing the page or trying other videos, the menu works.

I'll disable YCS until I actually need it, and see if I have an instance where the menu sticks. But, since this has never happened before, and it's happening on two machines, that points pretty strongly at YCS.
