Typed manifest files

it would be great if types could be automatically generated for manifest files, because using just strings its quite hard to tell if the resource is not already deprecated or missing. What i do has been to use a separate class to link to manifest assets, but i think its kind of not DRY.

This would allow code checkers to correct flag invalid assets as well as autocomplete to locate assets
