"open with" should remember our choice

When we right click on a file and we choose the option "open with" and we select an app we want topen the file with, cosmic should remember this choice for the next time instead of keeping opening with the first app in alphabetic order of the "open with" choice (not always very handy).
It keeps opening .txt files with calibre for example...

A checkbox to e.g. "always open with this app" would be better than always remembering it. Sometimes a user just wants to attempt to open with an app once.

edit: Okay, I think I misunderstood the problem. So you are talking about the list in the "open with..." menu, that should be rearranged, so the last used one would be on the top?

No, it shouldn't.
I use "open with..." for the exact reason if I want to open a file other than the default app for that format.
If I want to set up a default app, I simply set it as default, and simply open the file.

Yes with your edit @bala7s and I agree also with @jacobgkau because so far, there is no way to set deafult except a short list in cosmic settings.

You can currently set the default per file type in the COSMIC Files details sidebar.

@git-f0x If I understand the problem correctly, there could be an option in the list after "open with..." that would use the last program which were used with "open with..." rather than the one set up permanently for that filetype.

Yes, there will likely be a checkbox in the open with dialog for that eventually. Until then, you can set the default for a file type in the Files sidebar.
