Quantum Computing Users Group to Hold Monthly Meeting

At 4:00pm on Wednesday, January 22 in Amos Eaton 217, all are welcome to join Cameron Cogburn from the Physics Department for a presentation on quantum simulation problems, including the Spin-Boson model, Schwinger Model, and Ising Model scattering. Live In-Person: Jack Ferver to Share In-Progress New Work in “Dramatis Personae”

Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2025 6:00 PM - All are invited to a combined film and talk program with theatermaker, choreographer, and performer Jack Ferver. "Dramatis Personae" includes short film, discussion, and a live reading by the artist of a section of their in-progress work MY TOWN, co-commissioned with NYU Skirball.

Multimedia Services Announces Webex App Support Policy Enforcement

In early February, the Webex desktop app will release an update to version 45.2, and at that time versions 44.4 and older — as well as Windows 10 versions prior to version 1809 — will no longer be supported by the Webex desktop app. All members of the Rensselaer community are asked to ensure that their Webex desktop app is up-to-date with the most current version for the best Webex experience.

ECSE Faculty Recognized with CAREER Award

ECSE Assistant Professor Dr. Liu Liu has received an NSF CAREER award from the Division of Computing and Communication Foundations (CCF) for his project, “CAREER: Elastic Algorithm-Architecture Co-Design for Energy-Efficient and Scalable AI via Dynamic Connectivity.” Dr. Liu’s research aims to reduce AI’s rapidly growing energy footprint by rethinking how AI hardware processes, stores, and transfers data.
