Don’t Miss the Big Red Freakout!

Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025 4:30 PM - 11:30 PM - Join other RPI hockey fans to enjoy a buffet dinner, have face painting and “tattoos” done courtesy of the Red & White Student Organization, and enjoy a Pep Band performance! After the game, take the shuttle back to the Heffner Alumni House to meet the men’s hockey team and coaches, enjoy a cash bar and complimentary hot drinks, desserts, and snacks.

“Critical Intimacies” Event to Feature Filmmaker Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, Researcher Katie Kirkland

Date: Friday, January 31, 2025 7:00 PM - How can we practice critical intimacy in art, cinema, and theory? Register for this lecture from artist and filmmaker Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, with writer and researcher Katie Kirkland, to encounter artistic and theoretical works by female practitioners with East and Southeast Asian ancestry whose work grapples with legacies of Western imperialism.

RPIrates Monthly Meeting, “Put Your Data on Maps with Leaflet in R!,” to be Held January 29

RPI R users are invited to meeting of RPIrates, the RPI R Users Group! This week’s topic will be "Put Your Data on Maps with Leaflet in R!," led by Dr. John S. Erickson, Director of Research Operations of the Future of Computing Institute (FOCI) at Rensselaer. The session will discuss how R's Leaflet package makes it easy for users to create interactive maps that present data analyses in powerful, compelling, geographically-relevant ways.
