Experiment to treat symbols starting with a dot as accessing the document root. This syntax is common in other jsonpath style accessors.
This gives us a safe place to extend with additional reserved keys, because user values must all reside within
.values.I'm treating our existing reserved keys as if they are all mounted at this root, (but they remain accessible without the prefix).
