PyLadies Global Meeting

Agenda

New Business

  • Website redesign checkin
  • PyLadies auction & luncheon
    • luncheon - copy+paste from last year, same room, same day (Sunday, May 18th, 1hr)
      • maybe more room when in Long Beach
      • option to add more photos
    • auction - met last month w/ Phyllis, Doug, Olivia, Lynn to plan/talk logistics
      • not having the last scheduled talk in the room so we have more time to turn the room over
      • 350 ppl capacity (same as last year)
      • food costs are almost double compared to SLC, trying to see if buffet will save money
      • capping number of donated items (individual and bundles) to 30
  • PyLadiesCon
    • made a profit 🎉 - ~$4000
    • $6500 from last year
    • may want to use profit for travel grants for PyCon US
  • Email: Grant submission from Brasil
    • general questions:
      • should funding requests for a pyladies chapter events first go to global instead of PSF?
        • opinion: we shouldn't step in between this process; it's okay to go directly to PSF (if they're an active chapter)
        • something for us to think about
        • TODO: define a process (for sometime when we get our governance model more sorted out)
  • Outstanding PyLady award
  • Email: Trademark q from Manila
  • Email about donating money and posting jobs - to be discussed async
