New 0.9 release

@ryanking13 has suggested in #178 (review) that we should create a new release.

#174 and #178 are currently planned to be included in the release, but we can add more PRs if they are ready in time.

I didn't create a release directly, as I noted in the other PR that we were still using Pyodide 0.27.0a2. I've opened #183 to test against Pyodide 0.27.2.

Maybe let's include #181 and make a release. I have one open PR, too (#163), but it is a maintenance PR, so it doesn't have to be included.

Thanks! #163 now has a few conflicts; I would be happy to review them if you can resolve them. Yes, I agree that we should do those after a release, as it is a slightly larger refactor.

I'll bump to 0.9 so that we can include #181, as it is a new feature.

We have now closed all items on the milestone! I shall publish a 0.9 release in a few hours. Once done, I can help review #163, which I see that you have rebased.
