How to trigger a Dialog (Portal) from a DropdownMenu?

I have a DropdownMenu at the top of my app. I have a Dialog (Modal), using a Dialog.Portal. What is the best/easiest way to "trigger" the opening of a Dialog.Portal (Dialog.Content) from an action in a DropdownMenu?

Pseudo Code:
// There is a Menu Item titled "Open Dialog Modal" in this DropdownMenu
< DropdownMenu />
// when selecting "Open Dialog Modal" from this DropdownMenu, I want to trigger/interact with this Dialog component..
< DialogModal />
