What steps did you take and what happened:
After a Rancher Manager cluster migration (which is a backup/restore process with a full wipe before the restore step) I tried to add a new node in the Elemental cluster but it consistently fails.

The cluster is seen as Active but only one node (the one provisioned before the cluster migration) is available:

On the failing node I can see that elemental-system-agent has been started but nothing seems to happen:

The whole message:

What did you expect to happen:
Be able to deploy new nodes in the existing Elemental cluster after a Rancher Manager cluster migration.

Environment:

  • Elemental release version (use cat /etc/os-release): SLMicro6.0 based (2.3.0-dev-204.5)
  • Rancher version: 2.9.3
  • Kubernetes version (use kubectl version): v1.30.4+k3s1
  • Cloud provider or hardware configuration: Virtual Machine
