As a public user, I want to

  • view all editorial information available for a selected ecosystem group

so I can better understand its characteristics and significance

The available information includes

  • a unique alpha-numeric identifier
  • biome and domain classification
  • a description of ecological traits, key ecological drivers and global distribution (possibly in multiple languages);
  • references;
  • a photo image and/or a video;
  • a diagram image summarising the description (possibly in multiple languages).

@tmfrnz what is the plan with the diagrams? do you have them or should we share them somewhere? I noticed that some of them have also changed with the newer version of the description of the functional groups, so we need to check that we display the right versions for each group.

@jrfep we have started to consider alternative layout and design options as well as options to maintain them.

Therefore we are also wondering how often you anticipate these diagrams to change in the future? If you want and need to be able to update and edit these diagrams independently, we will either need to set you up with an editable file format (in which case we may want to discuss which tools may be suitable) or even develop some sort of grammar to describe diagrams that could allow the app to generate the diagrams automatically.

Regardless, for the start it might also be easiest to work with what you currently have after all. Happy to discuss!
